My Site is LIVE !

Postby flippy » Thu Aug 13, 2009 12:45 am

LotusCMS ,

I am very proud to announce that my fraternity site, which is built on and Powered by LotusCMS, went live this afternoon. the Sigma Beta Chi Fraternity Site can be found here. To nip it in the bud, you can be a frat boy and a Graphic designer who does web design/developer :). With that said, lets get to the review.

While I know it looks simple what I have done is Port over our existing semi-dynamic site to a full blown LotusCMS theme and site. There is a redesign in this sites future, and you will of course be notified as soon as that happens.

some of the web technologies that are built in are :

New Features
-LotusCMS, content management system
-Shadowbox JS , media viewer
-Bell Mailer, PHP mailer script
-Google Analytics, For web trends

Integrated Social Networking
-Linkedin , ON
-Facebook connectOFF **
-twitter OFF **

** working on a new theme where these will fit into the design better then the current theme.

This is the builtwith.com report can be Found Here

Check it out and let me know what you think. I hope I have done the LotusCMS development team proud. Please shoot me an email (the email contact form goes to me for now) if you find any issues, I am still trouble shooting the site ( Like i said , it when up today).

Thanks - Josh

Hi Josh!

It's great to see another early LotusCMS site being rolled out, without the need for too much help! :D

You've made a very good job integrating those components even the plugin system is nearly non-existent in version 1.3-1.5. Just to let you know that LotusCMS has it's own native mailer script for version 2.0, which is now 94% complete (The last thing left to get done is the updater script).

Developer
  • The Release of version 3.0 Stable is scheduled for July 2010.
  • We will (yes really!) modify any template or design to work with LotusCMS on your request!! All you have to do is post it in the forums or (If you don't want other people seeing or using your template) send us a PM with the files attached.

It's really nice to have people to help and support the CMS, especially during this early stage!

Thank You very much!

Update:
I have implemented Clickheat into the Sigma Beta Chi web site using the LotusCMS engine. This is a great tool to supplement my google analytics , which thanks to the great coding done by the lotus team and myself, has allowed me to haul ass to the top of the search engines. Now that we are at the top , and I see that we pulling alot more hits , I would now like to see what they are looking at and clicking on. ClickHeat will allow me to get a realtime idea of view of what people are looking at.

ClickHeat | Clicks heatmap

ClickHeat is a visual heatmap of clicks on a HTML page, showing hot and cold click zones. ClickHeat is an OpenSource software, released under GPL licence, and free of charge.

Requirements

- on the browser's client: Javascript (tested on Firefox 2.0, Internet Explorer 6 and 7, Konqueror...)
- on the server: either Linux or Windows (since ClickHeat 1.3 release), Apache or Lighttpd (other may work fine), PHP, the graphic library GD2 (PNG support needed). Please post on the bug tracker or contact us (link on the right) if you have problem running ClickHeat.

Features

- Low logging activity: a very few function calls to log a click, no server load rise should be noticed (have a look at Performance & optimization)
- A keyword is used to define the page upon Javascript code load, allowing you to group same pages.
- Screen sizes and browsers are logged, making possible the tracking of liquid CSS layouts (100% used width).
